Amersham and As You Like It

Last Saturday we went out to Amersham to see  Mr. Jon and Mrs. Michelle Ashley. Us girls were very excited to see Mrs. Michelle; because she used to babysit for us back home. But then she married Mr. Jon and moved to the UK. They now live out in the countryside. It was beautiful! It was a small little town, with adorable little cottages and homes. It's quite a shame we didn't move their! When we got to their house, we were very excited to see guacamole!! We hadn't had any Tex-Mex until then, so it was a lovely surprise. Mrs. Michelle then took us girls on a walk while Jon and Dad watched football. It was gorgeous. There were rolling green hills, rushing waterfalls, and tall green trees covering the hills. It was also a little chilly, more so than London. Mr. Jon told us later that was because the air was nicer their. We then returned for another wonderful surprise. We were having Fajita's for dinner! It was absolutely delicious! We had a wonderful time chatting and eating our Fajita's. Then we headed home for some much needed sleep. It had been a wonderful evening, and it was so nice to talk with other people, since we haven't made too many friends here.

A few days later we went As You Like at Shakespeare's Globe. It was a very good play. It put the Miller Outdoor Theatre to shame! It was about a young girl, Rosalind, who falls in love with Orlando, but she is then banished so she seek her father in the Forest of Arden where she stumbles upon Orlando, and teaches him the ways of wooing. The actors were amazing. You felt as if you were right there watching Rosalind escape to the forests. The theatre itself was very interesting. The whole thing had a very old-timey look to it. The only thing that gave away that you were not in Shakespearean England was the clothes people were wearing, and the skyscrapers raising above the roof. It was a wonderful afternoon.
